Lagos metropolis was practically
grounded today as members and
supporters of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) moved
en-mass to the Tafawa Balewa
Square venue to support Dr.
Goodluck Jonathan as he kicks off
his Presidential campaign.
The development left motorists and
commuters stranded as security
operatives took over the
commercial city and put temporary
road blocks in place for the
presidential campaign.
The ensuing traffic snarl led to an
increase in fares by commercial
buses while motorists had a hectic
time getting to their destinations.
Before getting to the Tafawa
Balewa venue, President Jonathan
paid a visit to Oba Rilwan Akiolu of
Lagos, and stated that the ruling
party has already fulfilled its
earlier electoral promises and
assured that it was determined to
do more.
