There are reports that Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has been flown to a hospital in India because of an undisclosed illness.
A source in Owerri has informed Speednews15 that the governor has been “acting like someone that needs psychological examination” for some time. While this is yet to be confirmed as the ailment that requires treatment in India, Okorocha belongs to the Ogboni secret society and his erratic behaviour and utterances have been chronicled on Speednews15
Membership of a secret society would have disqualified Okorocha from being a governor under Section 182(1)(h) of the Nigerian Constitution. The Constitution also holds that being “unsound of mind” would be grounds for removal from office.
In these circumstances, it’s hardly surprising that Okorocha’s alleged ailment is being kept out of the public domain.
