Check out these pictures taken at Yankari games reserve

Nwankwo Samuel C.
It is pathetic that the image of northern Nigeria as painted by the other parts of the country is that of terror. Everyone assumes that part of the country is a war zone that should not be visited.
This is a misconception as there are lots of places one could visit in the northern part of Nigeria; contrary to the belief of the public, there are no missiles flying in some of the wonderful places that attract tourists.
Yankari games reserve is one place you need to visit in order for you to change your orientation about the northern part of the country. The truth is that the northern part of the country is still interesting if you know the right places to visit.
This game reserve is located in the south-central part of Bauchi. It is home to a large number of flora and fauna in addition to it having many natural warm water springs. This beautiful place holds a lot of attraction for tourists as it was Nigeria’s biggest park as at 1991.

MMM: 7 things you must know before investing in networking schemes

Nwankwo Samuel C.
As you read this, many Zimbabweans are in tears. Thousands of them invested their hard earned savings in the popular Ponzi scheme called MMM, among them were civil servants, vendors and more.
MMM is a pyramid scheme
However the scheme collapsed and many have subsequently lost thousands of dollars to the fraudulent online pyramid scheme.
The social financial network, which relied on an accelerating number of new members to pay off the old, abruptly terminated its services without any prior notice last week leaving participants stranded.
To avoid falling victim to such, here are some steps you should take:

1. Avoid greed

The reason why most people fall victim top such schemes is the fact that they are greedy. For example why would you invest in a scheme that promises you almost 50% returns on your original investment in a relatively short time.
So while it is good to dream big, if a scheme is too good, it most likely is. So do not let greed push you into doing something you will later regret.

2. Make inquiries

Questions like: What do i stand to lose? Who is the originator of this scheme? Is this legal? What are the likely risks? Are there positive reviews of the scheme? Questions like this will help you to determine if investing in the scheme will be a wise idea or not.
Ask objective people, not those who have already put too much into the scheme to be objective in their evaluations.

3. Do your research

While you can rely on people if you are sure that their evaluations are objective enough, you might need to conduct your own research. Google and Wikipedia are some of the best sources of such information. You should put them to good use.
Carrying out adequate research on your own, can stop you from making the costly mistake of trusting in another person and ending up losing your hard earned savings like the people in Zimbabwe.

4. Invest only if you understand

One key advice from top investors has been that you should never invest if you do not understand the business. Bill Gates and Aliko Dangote, two of the world’s richest men repeat this advice regularly, so you should keep it in mind.
If an investment scheme seems too convoluted and complex, you should either take time to understand it properly or avoid investing in it totally.

5. Be wary of pyramid schemes

Pyramid investment schemes, that is investment schemes, where you are asked to put down some money and bring a certain number of people, who will in turn bring another set of people, which is also known as networking are highly risky.
In several cases, the pyramid falls over time and most people are left with heartbreak. So as a rule, it is better to avoid pyramid schemes entirely.

6. Documentation

When investing in any scheme, paperwork is vital, it is especially important to see documents and agreements even when investing in a networking scheme.
Ask for signed agreements drawn up by a qualified lawyer, so that if anything goes wrong you can sue the organization to court. Also avoid organizations with no permanent office address and any not registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

7. Evangelizing

Evangelizing is actually more of a sign that someone is out to profit from you at your expense, so be wary when someone begins to preach and persuade you to put your money somewhere. It may turn out to be a scam or a fraud.
The above list is not exhaustive, if you have any other tips that would help investors to be more careful, you are welcome to drop them in the comments below this post.

  • WARNING: CONTAINS GRAPHIC CONTENT
  • Man was filmed repeatedly throwing the little girl into a swimming pool
  • Sickening murder took place in August 2015, and shocked South America
  • Family were staying at a hotel in Morelia, Mexico, when it happened
  • The girl's mother was asleep in their hotel room at the time
  • Stepfather, identified as Jose David N,. held her under water at one point
  • He has been jailed for aggravated homicide, without a chance of parole
A man who was filmed repeatedly throwing his three-year-old stepdaughter in a swimming pool, causing her to drown, has been jailed for 100 years.
Horrifying surveillance footage showed the killer, identified only as Jose David N., throwing the child into the water at a hotel in the city of Morelia, in the south-western Mexican state of Michoacan in August 2015.
She is seen battling to keep herself afloat, while the murderer stands at the side of the pool doing nothing.
The helpless little girl could not swim, and other bathers did nothing to try and save her.
A man, identified only as Jose David N., has been jailed for 100 years after repeatedly throwing his stepdaughter into a swimming pool, causing her to drown
The youngster's mother, who is a nurse, did not realize her child was dead until after she had made one more visit to the pool with her husband.
They then returned to find the lifeless girl in front of the TV, prompting them to take her to hospital.
She died a short time later. The mother claimed she did not know her daughter was being mistreated until she saw the shocking video clips.
The incident took place on 12 August 2015 while the little girl's mother was sleeping in their hotel room.
It caused outrage in South America after the footage was made public last year.
The horrific CCTV footage showed the killer continuously dump his stepdaughter in the water and watch as she struggled

Jose knew his stepdaughter could not swim but pleaded surprise after being told that she had drowned, the court heard.
However, the video footage proved enough to convict him and see him jailed with no possibility of parole.
Jose stayed silent throughout his murder trial and did not testify. Prosecutors had recommended a prison sentence of up to 40 years.
But a judge made his punishment more severe after reviewing the footage.
It shows him standing at the poolside as her arms flail in the air.
She reaches out for help, before throwing in a lifebuoy, but the little girl is too weak to grab it.

The little girl was unable to escape the inhumane treatment and onlookers reportedly declined to step in and stop it
At one point he throws her in and walks away before returning and tossing her back in when she is fully-clothed.
After deliberation, judges Juan Salvador Alonso Mejia, Ana Lilia Garcia Cardona and Noe Reyes Millan found him guilty of aggravated murder.
The judge, Garcia Cardona, who read the sentence, said that not only did the man throw the toddler into the pool several times, he even dragged her by the hair under the water.
He then held her tiny body in such a position that she was unable to breathe.
The defence had tried to suggest that the little girl had died outside the pool and not in the water, but this was rejected by the judges.
The mother is said to have taken her daughter to hospital after realising she wasn't breathing and doctors confirmed she had died.
The stepfather was arrested and detained a short time later.

At one point in the disturbing video, he is seen holding her under the water
He pretended to throw a flotation device in to save her but knew the helpless little girl wouldn't be able to reach it

To make matters worse he even went on to caption it “wife is away, its all yours tonight”.
He then realised his mistake after having hit the send button with congregants expressing shock and outrage over the mishap. The Pastor is alleged to have immediately exited the group and stopped answering his calls. He was found 24 hours later hanging in his rented church house.
“Pastor’s antics have always been a cause for concern,he was always seen in the company of one of the deacons named Miriam and we suspected there was more to their friendship than meets the eye.
“Quizzed by his wife and congregants,he would shrug off the allegations and say as a Pastor he was a father to everyone and Miriam was his favourite Daughter,”said one of pastor Lesego’s congregants who refused to be named.
Efforts to get a comment from Christ Embassy Officials were fruitless at the time of going to print.
